If you have recently moved to San Antonio and your kids are already complaining that they are bored, keep calm! San Antonio moving companies have plenty to do for your family throughout the city. Whether you are looking to educate your kids on their new hometown’s history, show them a good ole Texas time, or explore nature, we have you covered!
So take some notes on what to do for family fun in Alamo City….
Educate Your Kids
San Antonio is full of American history…”Remember the Alamo?” If not, take the kids down to the site where the Battle of the Alamo took place in 1836. It is a big tourist attraction and pretty cool to see in real life. There are plenty of artifacts, murals, and old firearms for your kids to appreciate. For another historic site, visit the Tower of the Americas, located in HemisFair Park, the site of the 1968 World’s Fair. The tower is the tallest building in the city and the observation deck gives you a great view from 750 feet up.
There are also plenty of museums in town for a day of family fun. The San Antonio Museum of Art has tons of exhibits and large collections of Mediterranean, Asian, and Latin art. It is located on Riverwalk, so you can make a whole day of it. The McNay Art Museum, on the other hand, houses mostly 19th and 20th century pieces, including some Pablo Picasso and Paul Cezanne pieces. If your kids are over art exhibits, take them to the Witte Museum, which focuses on culture, natural history, and science.
Enjoy the Outdoors
If your kids love being outside, they are in luck! There is so much to do for a family fun day in San Antonio. San Antonio was ranked in Bicycling Magazine’s top 50 bike-friendly cities, and there are plenty of B-Cycle stations throughout the city. Take the kids for a bike ride through Brackenridge Park, San Antonio’s largest public park. There are long trails, golf courses, playgrounds, and it is even home to the San Antonio Zoo! You can also head over to the San Antonio Botanical Garden, where your kids can enjoy a wide array of flowers and butterflies.
Plan an Action-Packed Day
If you want to treat your kids to something special, there are plenty of San Antonio venues that will WOW them. Try Six Flags Fiesta Texas, home to roller coasters, thrill rides, go-karts, and shows. If your children are not quite old enough for rollercoasters, you can head to SeaWorld San Antonio for a day of family fun. Your kids can watch marine mammal shows or play in Sesame Street Bay of Play, the park’s kiddie ride section. There are, of course, plenty of rollercoasters and thrill rides. If your kids are into sports, you can treat them to a Spurs game, which the boys will love! Excitement is contagious at the AT&T Center, because San Antonio has some diehard fans. For a good ole Texas time, you can even go to a rodeo at San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo. Yeehaw!
Moving to San Antonio is tons of fun, because there is so much to do, especially for your children. Make sure to check some of these places out for your next family fun day!
