Tour of Homes. Every June, the historic homes of Franklin open their doors to the general public in order to raise money for the Foundation's Tour, a non-profit that stresses the importance of historic preservation. Some of the homes from the Heritage Foundation of Franklin & Williamson County members include: the Masonic Lodge-Hiram Lodge, a home from 1823 that served as a barrack for the Union soldiers during wartime occupation, and the Ogilvie Place-Beech Hill Farm, one of the oldest log houses in the county - dating all the way back to 1796!
