Moving to Maryland? Your Maryland moving company can assure you that you will not be bored! There is something to love no matter what you are into. Whether you are a city-dweller, a suburban family, country folks, or the laid-back beach type, Maryland has a town that you will be proud to call home.
Think Seafood
Maryland is world-famous for its absolutely delicious blue crabs. Season begins April 1 and runs through December 15, and Marylanders take advantage of every day. You can get them steamed, fried, or try some traditional Maryland crab cakes. During spring, crab cakes are basically a food group.
Folks in Maryland also have a bit of an obsession with Old Bay seasoning. And it does not just go on seafood. Once you have lived here for a while, you will start adding it to salads, French fries, and eggs.
Fun in the Sun
Where there is seafood, there are beaches, and Maryland has plenty of them. Assateague Island, a state and national park, features two miles of beaches and is a fisherman's paradise. The island is also home to a group of wild ponies! Your kids will think that is pretty cool, we promise. Sandy Point State Park is a great local beach, and crabbing is pretty popular there. But if you want to go to Maryland's most popular beach, head to Ocean City.
Ocean City is where Marylanders go to relax, unwind and have a good time. There is plenty to do in the beachfront town. Check out the 2.5 mile boardwalk for a stunning sunset or cast your reel in one of the town's many piers. After all, Ocean City is the White Marlin Capital of the World. There are also loads of family-friendly restaurants for your children and lots of bars and nightlife venues if you are taking a kid-free vacation. And do not forget to spend time on the beautiful beach!
Farm Fresh Goodies
Farms and ranches are surprisingly common in Maryland, so there is plenty of fresh produce throughout the state. Your family can enjoy fresh apples, peaches, pears, and cherries grown just miles away. Orchards are plentiful in the fall, and they are a great place to take your kids.
You should be sure to check out Baltimore's Farmers Market and Bazzar when you are in town. There are loads of fresh produce and even more funky crafts and jewelry that your kids would love to see. Your new home state also features loads of farm-to-table restaurants, so enjoy some locally-grown grub as soon as you finish unpacking!
Washington D.C. is Your Neighbor
After moving to Maryland, you will get to enjoy the perks of living close to our nation's capital; Washington D.C. is an amazing place. With political excitement in the air, history down every street, and different cultures in each neighborhood, it is an incredible place to visit with your kids. You will get to see first-class landmarks and institutions like the White House, Washington Monument, Lincoln Memorial, and Smithsonian Museum. If you are moving to a town like Bethesda, Chevy Chase, Silver Spring, or College Park, you will be just a short drive away.
