The city of Morrow, GA was established in the 19th century when an up-and-coming financier by the name of Daniel Tyler bought out the bankrupt Monroe Railroad and Banking Company, turning it into the Macon & Western Railroad Company. Tyler then began extending the railroad all the way across the tracks in North Atlanta and into what is now our city of Morrow.1

The area, then known as Morrow's Station, was named after Radford E. morrow, a gentleman who owned a plantation on more than 1,000 acres of land. Morrow lived in his 12-room mansion on the corner of Morrow Road and Highway 54, but an unfortunate fire destroyed the entire residence.1
