Over the past few weeks, COVID-19 has flipped the world upside down. While the spring season is prone to allergies, colds, and cases of the flu, the coronavirus has caused a worldwide pandemic. All My Sons Moving & Storage is still open and ready to assist you with our relocation services. Our dedicated Fort Myers movers are here to share a few ways to stay sanitized while moving during COVID-19.
Whether this is your first move, or you have done this a few times before, moving during COVID-19 is something no one has ever done until now. This is the prime season for moving, but also the time when a lot of people are faced with sudden illnesses. It’s crucial you stay informed and educated on the latest health safety guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Our long-distance Fort Myers movers are our experts on the matter and are here to share some tips on how to stay sanitized while moving during this pandemic.
1. Maintain proper social distancing.
The CDC defines social distancing as “keeping space between yourself and other people outside of your home.” To prevent the spread of COVID-19, avoid crowded areas and group settings, and always stay at least six feet apart from others. When practicing social distancing, you are drastically slowing the spread of the virus, especially if you are traveling a long distance. During your upcoming relocation, stay at least six feet away from your movers and other people, whether you’re feeling symptoms of a sickness or not.
2. Disinfect all surfaces.
Purchase any cleaning products you can find during this pandemic and disinfect all surfaces of your current and future home. It’s crucial you kill the viruses that can surface in your living areas. If you are unable to find any disinfecting products, you can make your own solution with household bleach and water. Wipe or spray down doorknobs, furniture, light switches, toilets, and other areas your movers might touch, and wait for the solution to dry to kill any germs.
3. Keep hand sanitizer by the door.
One of the most important ways to stay sanitized while moving is to keep hand sanitizer by the door. When moving during COVID-19 you might not have immediate access to soap and water to wash your hands properly. However, you can keep hand sanitizer by the door so it’s readily available for your movers, family members, and others on moving day. Make sure the hand sanitizer you use has at least 60% alcohol to kill any germs and viruses.
Don’t let the COVID-19 outbreak ruin your relocation. In order to have a safe and effective move during this time, we ask you to stay sanitized while moving. Our team is doing our part to protect ourselves, and it’s important you follow the CDC healthy and safety guidelines. Contact of local Fort Myers movers today to learn more about our services.
