Sure there are plenty of life hacks out there - using a pencil case as a way to store all of your cords in your bag (sans the tangling), flipping your button-up shirt inside-out when ironing it to easily iron the button side, and even using a beer koozie as a protective case for your portable hard drive.
However, chances are that there are still some life hacks that are so simple, you have not even thought to try them yet. Luckily, your local Fort Myers movers have a list of six cleaning hacks using food found in your kitchen, sure to forever lessen the amount of cleaning products you will have to buy.
Rice. Not only can you use rice to dry out a phone accidentally dropped into water, but you can also use the uncooked grains to get out that impossible to reach grime on the inside of flower vases. Just mix a scoop of rice with a little bit of dish detergent and some warm water. Rub it on the inside of the vase. Voila!
Salt. Another great natural way to get rid of stubborn grime that will not go away - solid salt is a fantastic tool for scrubbing those hard places. Particularly good for cleaning out the inside of an oven - salt naturally becomes a saline when it is mixed with water. That means that it is made for cleaning the residue left behind by cooking proteins. An added bonus: blood stains on clothes or carpet can also be eradicated by this hack.
Banana Peels. While no one particularly enjoys polishing silverware, it can be especially frustrating when you just cannot seem to get that one last smudge to go away. Get rid of this frustration by taking a banana peel and mixing it with water to create a paste that is perfectly tailored to polishing all of your silverware - from your finest silver to the set that you use every day.
Stale Bread. Before you toss out that expired stale bread, use it first to clean out those unwanted smells from any type of grinder - think coffee and spice grinders in particular. It will also magically get rid of tough-to-clean residue that's left over.
Coffee Grinds. Perhaps one of the best natural exfoliators, coffee grinds double as a hand scrub, as well as a highly effective way to immediately clean oven tops. Coffee grounds can also be used to get rid of any unpleasant smell in your refrigerator.
Club Soda. Do you have a stubborn stain on your favorite shirt? Just take some club soda and rub a little on the stain in order to quickly and easily get rid of it. Along with being a way to get rid of that leftover stain on your carpet, it can also be used to clean your skillet. All you have to do is pour some into it after you are done cooking with it and let it sit for a while - trust us, you will barely have to do any scrubbing afterwards in order to get it clean!
